CBD is the abbreviation of cannabidiol. It is one of the prevalent active ingredients of cannabis. It is derived directly from the hemp plant, which is a cousin of the marijuana plant. CBD is not psychoactive. In other words, it's not what gets you stoned.
Most people will not like the taste of CBD oil. After all, its an Oil ! Here comes the sweets that contain (or should) just the right amount of (legal) CBD.
Typically, an individual gummy will contain 25 mg of CBD per individual gummy bear.
Whilst CBD is a legal substance in the UK, it does come from the cannabis plant, which is illegal. There are various types of the cannabis plant, including marijuana and hemp. While marijuana is strictly prohibited, hemp is legal to grow under license and therefore can be used in numerous products for sale.
The reason for this difference in classification is that hemp contains less than 0.3 % THC by dry weight, while marijuana can contain up to 30%. THC is the compound that gets you high.
By using hemp to create products, UK CBD sellers can ensure that their CBD gummies contain a maximum of 0.2% THC – this is the legal limit here, so as long as companies abide by this, the products are legal.
Basically, as long as there is less than 0.2% THC in the gummies, they are perfectly legal!
It is possible to make your own CBD gummies if you buy CBD oil. Again, this is perfectly legal to do, just as long as the CBD oil you buy is within the UK guidelines.
Illegal.
If you are selling Gummies within the legal limits - no problem. Problems can arise when you are in possession of Gummies that contain too much THC and are therefore illegal. Any good criminal solicitors will advise you that the fact that you didn't know how much THC was in the gummie would not be a defence.
